While not currently featured in the Japanese version of Rune Factory 5 released earlier this year, it was confirmed that the North American version will include same-sex marriage options with all 12 of the available marriage candidates, making it the first in the series to offer such inclusion. Rune Factory 5 is a slice-of-life simulation game with combat and RPG elements and is the first entry in the series since Rune Factory 4 in 2014. An inclusive step has been taken for the upcoming North American Nintendo Switch launch of Rune Factory 5, slated for release on March 22, 2022.
